Bear Grylls real name is Edward Michael Grylls. His nickname is Bear. Bear Grylls was born on June the 7th, 1974. He is a British Mountaineer. Bear's father is a politician named Sir Michael Grylls. He attended Eton College and went to be educated in Hispianic Studies. He also went to London University to continue with Hispanic Studies. Bear was with the British Special Forces for three years. He could not continue with the Force due to a parachute accident, where his parachute got stuck in a tree. He cut the parachute then fell to the ground from dozens of feet in the air eventually breaking his spine in three different places. Bear has a wife named Shara and two sons named Marmaduke and Jesse. More recently Bear stars in a show on the Discovery Channel called, Man vs. Wild which has led to his stardom.
